This week was another long one, but I’ve nought complain about.
There I go finishing another sentence with a preposition.

The novice photographer often feels as though the most important thing about taking pictures is the camera they get. This often starts with a budget and, once this is established, the most expensive body is then acquired. The lens(es) that will come as part of a kit are… well. They’re bundled for super cheap for a reason. They’re super cheap, at least compared to other lenses that are available. Upgrading a lens will make a newbie realise how important good lenses are. They can often make you feel like you just bought a new body.
The cameras and the kit lenses with which they are bundled work. They take very nice pictures. But they’re subject to very notable limitations. After learning some things the hard way, and after having done quite a bit of reading, I decided to share what I’ve learned in one post.
Lately things have been crazy, as most of you know. Living the corporate life, days are between twelve to fourteen hours, though the work is very interesting.
Hullo!
*random high five*
Sorry for the radio silence. Work has been insane. Travelling, regular 15-hour days and weekends… (blahblahblah). But I’ve not forgotten about you.
HULLO. Yes, yes, I’ve not been posting. Mea culpa.
Between a major unanticipated job focus change following the expected new role for my paycheque job (them: “yo, you’ll be handling project “A” full time!” me: “wicked awesome!” them: “nevermind, we realize project “B” isn’t being handled properly, you do it” me: “but… this needs a 25-person core team… and that’s half of what out US sister company is putting into the project” them: “we believe in you! Here’s a BlackBerry. Oh, and we’ll need you to go ahead and… work 75% longer hours and most weekends…”). Thankfully it’s very interesting work and I’m enjoying it. So yeah, between that, the freelance work ($$!), organizing the national Taekwon-Do championship this year and trying to have some fun, I’ve to prioritise.
So I’ve been toying with the camera and decided to make use of the tripod I also recently acquired.
Hullo!
Today went to the Royal Ontario Museum as an impulsive move to get myself out of the apartment for a few hours. Here are some of the snaps I took.
Soooo… given that the most attention I get is from my plants, I decided to splurge. After a few years of the industry being in the dumps, I got a bonus from my full-time employer (as opposed to my two volunteer jobs and the freelancing I do on the side).
I recently had a conversation with a friend over Guinness and scotch. Often, at some point in the evening, friends and acquaintances ask me car-related questions. Unfortunately, the conversations seldom go the way they expected.
